ART BY TILKA:
Q: How long has Art by Tilka been Active?
A: Since 2003. I have always made it a point to work closely with all of my customers to make sure that they are completely satisfied with their purchases. I use only the best products available and all of my canvases are double primed for many generations of enjoyment.
COMMISSIONS / ORIGINALS / REPRODUCTIONS:
Q: If I see a picture in a magazine of a painting I would like to have painted would you do that for me?
A: All of my Original Pieces are truly Originals from the conception of the idea to the final brushstroke. I paint from pictures I have taken, sketches I have produced (usually on location), from my imagination or a combination of these. For example, Should you want a painting done of yourself sitting in a garden I would personally take the picture. There would be no additional charge for doing this, only the cost of the painting itself. I want to make sure it will be exactly what you would want since my customer’s enjoyment of the art piece is very important to me. On rare occasions, I may use a picture provided from a Friend or Family Member. Regarding Reproductions, I only reproduce pieces I have originally done myself and I specifically always let my customers know whether they are purchasing a reproduction or an original. A Certificate of Authenticity accompanies all of my Originals.
DELIVERY:
Q: How long does it take to receive one of your art pieces?
A: Any of my Originals, or items under my Mugs & More Page take approximately 5-7 business days to receive, from the date of payment. Commissioned Drawings, Oil Paintings, or Mixed Media Paintings can take approximately 1-3 weeks to produce depending on the size of the piece and amount of detail involved. Drawings can be shipped out as soon as completed. Oil Paintings can take anywhere between 2-3 weeks to dry enough to safely ship out to the customer. Mixed Media Paintings need only 2-3 days drying time before shipping.
FRAMING:
Q: What if I want help with framing my art piece?
A: I will work with you – up to 1 complimentary hour in person or via phone communication, at no additional charge, to determine the best frame for your art piece based on your décor.
GICLEES:
Q: What is a Giclee?
A: It is essentially a digital inkjet print, not to be confused in any way with an original. It is the best quality and closest possible print reproduction that can be obtained from the original. Images are produced from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks. Giclee Prints can be produced on paper or canvas. One major advantage of these Giclee Prints is that they are usually only a fraction of the cost of an Original. If interested, I can work with a customer who would prefer to have a Giclee Print of one of my available pieces versus the Original.
PURCHASING ARTWORKS / PRICES:
Q: How do I purchase one of your Art pieces?
A: You can contact me directly for the purchase of any of my Original Artworks. I accept Cash, Cashier’s Checks, and all Credit Card payments in person or over the phone. Prices for my Original Paintings are set based on a formula I use taking into consideration the dimensions of the piece. It is as follows: Add the dimensions of the painting and then multiply by 21. For example, if you see an 8″ x 10″ painting you would like to purchase, add the 8 + 10 = 18, then multiply it by 21 = $378.00. If it is a Portrait, multiply it by 27. Custom Portraits can involve a considerably higher amount of time and effort. Framing is not included in the price. Pricing for Original Drawings is just slightly less than for the Paintings.
RETURN POLICY:
Q: What if I want to return the item?
A: I have a 30 day return policy if your Art piece has not sustained any damages. The Certificate of Authenticity must accompany the return if it is an Original. Pending these conditions, a full refund (minus cost of shipping and handling, if any) will be issued if the customer is not 100% in love with the Art piece during that 30 day period. This policy also applies to Portraits.
INSPIRATION:
Q: Where do you get most of your inspiration?
A: I frequently visit Botanic Gardens, especially the Fort Worth Botanic Garden in the Spring. The beautiful colors of the flowers help inspire me. I’m also very attracted to Historic and Beautiful Local sites. I especially enjoy painting topics which depict the many Joys of Living.
* Should you have any questions other than the ones listed above, do not hesitate to contact me through my Contact Page. I would be happy to answer them for you. Also, I do work with my prospective clients to make sure they are happy not just with the Art piece, but also with the price.
