As an Artist, I strive to produce High Quality Original Fine Art depicting some of the many joys of living. Creating Artwork which is uplifting to my viewers is important to me. One of the best compliments I have ever received was from one of my clients who stated: “Your painting makes me smile.”
While creating any of my Artworks I try to capture as much of the essence and beauty as I can from my subject matter. I love light and shadow effects and try to incorporate this whenever possible. Most of my paintings and drawings are botanical and/or of favorite local sites, especially historic ones. The Fort Worth Botanic Garden in Fort Worth, Texas and Downtown Grapevine, Texas are two locations I have very much enjoyed creating Artworks from.
The mediums I especially prefer to work with are Oils, Graphite, and Coloring Pencils. Oils allow me to easily add impasto effects for added texture and depth. Graphite as well as Coloring Pencils are very portable, allowing for spontaneous, on location sketches which can be framed as finished works of Art or which can be used as studies for Oil Paintings.
I create my Artworks from photographs, sketches, imagination, or a combination of these. All of my photographs are ones I have personally taken except in rare situations such as, for example, certain pet portraits. All of my Original Artworks are truly Original from the conception of the idea to the completion of the Art Piece. They include a Certificate of Authenticity and only the best materials are used to ensure enjoyment of the Artwork for many generations to come.
